I am breastfeeding can i having bacteria vaginosis affect my baby?

i've been itching alot and sore and having heavy discharge which looks yellowish in colour could it possible be bacteria vaginosis? could it affect my 2 months old since am breastfeeding only and can i get antibiotics for it while breastfeeding. is there anything i can do at home to stop itching in the mean time. how long the treatment normally last for.
Having it shouldn't affect breastfeeding. You are going to need antibiotics, you'll need to ask the doc if they are OK to take while breastfeeding. You can get over the counter anti itch cream for that. It shouldn't affect anything though.

you can buy an itch cream specifically for that at walmart or other stores like walgreens,it wont hurt the baby. but make sure u wash your hands after applying it. they have treatments there too u can use,u dont have to get antibiotics. and they shouldnt effect the baby at all. the infection wont effect the baby either. i know u shouldnt have sex during an infection and after it clears up your suppose to wait like 2wks too. the treatments range from a couple of days to a week, just deps on which one u get. try monostat.

I assume you mean a vaginal yeast infection. It should not have any affect on the baby. You do want to get it treated. You will be more comfortable. I have been prescribed a pill for this, but pharmacists are a little unsure about if it comes through the breastmilk. You could also be prescribed something that can just insert the medication right into...the affected area.

it won't effect the baby. (bacterial vaginosis)and the antibiotic is usually topical (inserted into the vagina) for 7-10 days--there's less chance of the antibiotics even reaching your milk due to this. you'll need to get checked out to get it taken care of, though.
